Boy, laundry will be the death of me. My son’s school has an area near the playground that is very muddy and my son LOVES mud. He loves dirt, he loves messes, he just loves to ruin his clothes. This mama does not love any of that, and worse, I dislike clothes getting stained and losing their vibrance. I was quite appreciative when the Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent arrived at my door step.
My sweet boy has super hero day at school. I have gone away from purchasing anything white for him. We stick with dark colors because at least those look less stained. However, he wanted to be a storm trooper and it just so happens that this past weekend was rainy and cold. So of course on Friday there was mud at school and of course my little storm trooper went all in.
The lighting in my laundry room is not great but you can clearly see the black outline of dirt from his jeans he had on underneath this costume. The pant legs and the arms of this costume were so speckled with mud, I was sure that they would not come clean.
I threw them in the washer and added some Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent in and washed on warm. I was hoping that the fact that this detergent works on 100 stains and had Clorox in it would really brighten up his filthy costume. Unfortunately one wash just was not enough. I did have to run the load once more and rub the Purex into the stains, however, after the second wash, the costume looked nearly brand new!

The costume was bright, vibrant and best of all free of mud and dirt stains. I was pleasantly surprised at how new the costume looked. My son was just glad that he could wear the costume again because I threatened to trash it if it did not come clean.
Purex plus Clorox 2 works on 100 stains from food, to protein based stains to starches and even chocolate. It is safe for colors. I did test this out by washing some of my colored towels and they came out great. The one thing about this particular brand of Purex is that the scent is not that great. I really love most other Purex brands because of the scent but this one is not very strong, so that bummed me out. Otherwise it cleaned pretty good and my whites were definitely more vibrant.
